Kiely Bros was originally established in the late 1950’s by the current owner’s parents.  Originally specialising only in Surface Dressing, operating within the West Midlands area, since the turn of the century, under the stewardship of Mike Kiely, the company has expanded rapidly and now operates throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

As well as now offering a comprehensive range of surface treatments, pre-patching solutions and ancillary activities the company also has an extensive Waste Management division operating in the Midlands.  With its own waste transfer station and large fleet of skip vehicles it is one of the leading  operators in Waste Management in the area.

The expansion and development of the company was accelerated by the acquisition in 2003 of the business of Tarmac Johnston Material Services.  This acquisition introduced the company to a wider customer base and, more importantly, it brought on board a team of talented and highly experienced managers, engineers and operatives. This team has been strengthened over the years with the recruitment of additional equally talented individuals from within the industry.

The swift development of the company’s activities has necessitated a huge investment in modern plant and vehicles.  As the company policy is to undertake all servicing and maintenance in house it has also been necessary to invest in the infrastructure in order to accommodate the enlarged fleet.  The move to the current 6 acre site in Cherrywood Road in 2005 provided the additional space required and also offers further scope for continued expansion.

Despite the rapid growth of the company the core philosophy of running the business based on strong family values and employee development has not diminished.  This philosophy has given the employees the opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills and the freedom to utilise their enhanced abilities to further their own careers and the ongoing development of the company.

The company prides itself on its “can do attitude” and its willingness to discuss suitable solutions with Clients to their highway maintenance problems.  It believes that it is this attitude that has helped to forge long term relationships with many of the Local Authorities and Term Maintenance Contractors that have Highway Maintenance responsibilities in the UK.
